Chimney Liners

The flue liner is often the most neglected part of your chimney. Traditional masonry flue tiles cannot handle the acidic moisture created by your furnace, boiler, or hot water tank. This acid attacks and breaks down flue tiles and mortar in between them. This damage can prevent harmful exhaust gases from leaving your chimney and home. Don't let damage and deterioration lead to hazardous conditions.
Many chimneys appear to be in fine condition on the outside. But inside it could be a completely different situation. Yesterday's chimneys were not designed for venting today's more energy-efficient appliances. Let's take a close look at what really counts…the inside of the chimney.
A look inside a chimney that appears fine on the outside often reveals a totally different picture. There may be cracks, and even pieces missing from the original clay liner. Older chimneys may not even have a clay liner. Mortar and bricks may be loose and falling, and there may be other deterioration.
Chimney problems can cause illness and even loss of lives. It happens thousands of times a year. Chimney defects result in injury and death from fire and from carbon monoxide poisoning. Installing an aluminum or stainless steel chimney liner will alleviate all of these problems.
ER Chimney Services is proud to use M-Flex Chimney Liners from National Chimney, HomeSaver UltraPro & Pro Chimney Relining Systems and Z-Flex Chimney & Venting Solutions. They help provide a customer with the best possible materials to make their damaged or over-sized chimney flue systems safe again. Chimney Caps

There are two purposes to buy and install a chimney cap: 1) to prevent water damage and 2) to aesthetically enhance your roof line.
Water is the number one cause of damage to chimneys. Large amounts of rain and snow can enter your chimney in just one season, when thaw/freeze cycles are common. Chimney caps are the most inexpensive preventative measure that a homeowner can take. A rain cap also provides other benefits such as preventing birds and animals from entering and nesting in the chimney, and also can prevent sparks from landing on the roof or other combustible materials.
Chimney shrouds and caps offer the opportunity to shield an unsightly metal fireplace termination cap from view and dramatically improve the elevation of any building. Roofed caps and shrouds can also act as rain caps and spark arrestors for masonry chimneys while enhancing the roofline as well.
ER Chimney Services sells and installs chimney caps manufactured by Copperfield, National Chimney, and American Chimney Shroud. To find out more about some of the chimney caps offered, download the brochures below.

Chimney Flashing Repair

Flashing is the material at the base of chimneys, stacks and vents that is designed to waterproof the juncture where they penetrate the roof. Faulty or deteriorated flashings can cause leaks and water damage to the surrounding roof deck or eventually the interior finishes of your home.
At ER Chimney Service, we use FlashSeal elastomeric flashing sealant to repair damaged flashing. FlashSeal is a long-lasting flashing repair system designed to stop leaks from faulty or deteriorated flashings around chimney and stack and vents. A properly installed FlashSeal application is like installing a custom fit rubber boot around the base of your chimney. Its strength and flexibility will provide years of trouble free service to help stop the damaging effects of water that can enter your home from a faulty or deteriorated flashing system. Chimney Crown & Waterproofing

Chimneys are highly exposed to the elements and, if left unprotected, are susceptible to structural deterioration. It is important to address this problem before serious damage occurs. A complete protection program should include a chimney cap and repair of any cracks or deterioration on the crown, mortar joints and flashing; in addition to an application of a water repellent to the entire chimney. A chimney crown is a masonry roof that covers the top of your chimney. It prevents water from weeping into the masonry below. Water damaged or cracked chimney crowns can lead to costly chimney repairs.
At ER Chimney Services, we provide a complete chimney protection program that includes repairing the crown with CrownCoat and a treatment with ChimneySaver, a 100% breathable siloxane based water repellent. To find out more, feel free to download the brochures below.

Lyemance Dampers

Seal in warmth and lock in energy savings with a lyemance energy-saving damper. Traditional chimney and fireplace dampers leak, which costs you big money in lost utility dollars going out your chimney. Lyemance dampers are well constructed, superbly engineered dampers eliminate 90% of the winter heat and summer cooling loss that leaks past your current damper. It also eliminates downdrafts and keeps moisture and animals out of your chimney and home. Moisture in your chimney causes unwelcome odors and leads to deterioration of bricks and mortar. The Lyemance Energy-Saving Damper works year round to protect your chimney, which is why thousands are installed each year. ER Chimney Services sells and installs these amazing dampers. R-CO Chimney Housing

Have an old chimney that you want to cover up or a prefabricated chimney system that needs a new look? Then a R-CO Chimney Housing is perfect for you because it's virtually impossible to tell the difference between it and a brick and mortar chimney. They are attractively priced and add to the overall appearance and value of a home. For more information download their brochure and contact ER Chimney Services to have one installed today.

Stainless Steel Chimney Chase Covers

Chase covers are the metal at the top of the chimney. The purpose is to shed water off the top to protect the body of the chimney from water penetration. Unfortunately many chase covers are designed and/or made out of materials that develop leaks after only a few years. The “Bird Bath” effect occurs when a metal chimney chase has a low spot in the center that holds water. Standing water oxidizes prematurely and the rust eats away at the surface of the chase cover.
To avoid a rusting, non-functional chase cover, ER Chimney Services sells and installs stainless steel chimney chase covers manufactured by National Chimney Supply. These chase covers fit any size chimney and are made from 24-gauge stainless steel with a lifetime warranty. For more information about this product, download their brochure.
